Harper & Co. sought to revitalize a neglected urban park that had become an eyesore due to overgrown vegetation, outdated infrastructure, and lack of amenities. The park, once a vibrant community space, had seen a decline in visitors and was in desperate need of a makeover to restore its appeal and usability for residents. The goal was to transform the park into a welcoming, multifunctional green space that catered to the needs of the community while enhancing its aesthetic and environmental value.
Community Engagement: We began by engaging with local residents and stakeholders to understand their needs and desires for the park. Infrastructure Overhaul: We removed outdated and damaged structures, replacing them with modern amenities including new benches, lighting, and waste management stations. The paths were widened and resurfaced to improve accessibility for all visitors, including those with mobility challenges.
Landscaping and Greenery: The revitalization included extensive re-landscaping with drought-tolerant native plants and trees, which required less maintenance and water. We also created open lawns for recreational use, installed flower beds for visual interest, and added shaded areas with seating to encourage relaxation and social gatherings.
Safety and Accessibility Enhancements: To make the park safer and more welcoming, we installed energy-efficient lighting along paths and around key areas such as playgrounds and seating areas.
