The Lee family wanted to transform their traditional backyard into an eco-friendly garden that would reduce water usage, support local wildlife, and minimize environmental impact. Their existing landscape was water-intensive and lacked sustainable features. The challenge was to create a beautiful, low-maintenance garden that aligned with the family’s environmental values while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of their property.
Our Process
Our Process
  1. Sustainability Consultation: We began by discussing the Lee family's goals for sustainability and their vision for an eco-friendly garden. They wanted to incorporate native plants, reduce water consumption, and create habitats for local wildlife. Based on their input, we devised a sustainable garden design plan.

  2. Design and Plant Selection: We developed a garden layout that included drought-tolerant native plants, rain gardens, and permeable pathways. The design focused on creating a balance between functionality and natural beauty while ensuring the garden would thrive with minimal intervention. Native grasses, wildflowers, and shrubs were selected to attract pollinators and provide year-round interest.

  3. Soil Improvement and Water Management: We improved the soil quality by incorporating organic compost and mulch to retain moisture and reduce the need for frequent watering. A rainwater harvesting system was installed to capture and reuse rainwater for irrigation, further reducing the garden’s environmental footprint.

  4. Planting and Installation: The garden was installed using sustainable practices, including the use of organic fertilizers and natural pest control methods. Permeable pathways made from recycled materials were added to minimize runoff and allow rainwater to soak into the soil.

  5. Wildlife Habitat Creation: To support local wildlife, we incorporated bird feeders, nesting boxes, and a small pond to attract birds, bees, and butterflies. These features were strategically placed to create a thriving ecosystem within the garden.
